The sensors in the DI 291 automatically detect the size of the load and the degree of soiling. The optimum water volume and temperature are then calculated. The best possible results in washing and low consumption. Water hardness is constantly regulated to protect glassware* and delicate dishes; variable* bottom and upper baskets cater to all shapes and sizes.
Aqua-Sensor
In programs that include a cold pre-wash, an infrared sensor checks the clarity of the water after the pre-wash. The otherwise usual replacement of the water is omitted if it discovers that the water can still be used for the subsequent main wash cycle. This technology makes it possible for up to four liters of water to be saved per program with normal soiling. In fully automated dishwashers, a second sensor is used, which not only detects the clarity ot the water, but also small dirt particles such as tea redidue in the rinsing water. This allows even more efficient use of fresh water, without impairing rinsing.
Automatic programming with five special functions
Five special functions are available in addition to automatic programing: * Auto-mild wash for glassware and fine china * Auto-plus wash for heavily soiled items * Quick function * Pre-wash * Accelerate function All functions are easy to select using the interactive clear text display at the top of the inner door.
Condensation drying
During the drying cycle, hot steam condenses in the form of droplets on the sides of the heat exchanger, which is filled with cold water. These droplets then run down the sides of the heat exchanger, which means the drying process is thorough and hygienic. Additional energy and an external air supply are not needed, and there is no steam to escape when the door of the dishwasher is opened.
Duo cutlery basket
The dividable cutlery basket can be placed in the most convenient position to suit the load, for example to allow space for different shaped crockery, pans, etc.
Quick Wash
With this program, lightly soiled items are ready to use again after half an hour.
Baking Tray Spray Head
The top basket can be removed from the appliance to make space for large articles such as baking trays, metal filters and vases. The spray head, which is supplied as standard in all models, ensures that the jets of water are evenly distributed.
Fully automated dishwashers (auto/smart wash)
In all programs, our fully automated dishwashers calculate the degree of soiling of both dishes and water, using Aqua-Sensor II technology. Water temperature and quantity, as well as length of wash cycle, are optimized accordingly for best results and efficient energy and water consumption. An additional feature of our fully automated dishwashers is that you can pre-select reduced wash time or a special gentle rinse cycle for particularly delicate items, without losing the optimized, flexible cycle sequence. There are also separate short programs.
Glass care technology
This new technology avoids damaging fine glassware in several ways: The heat exchanger prevents extreme fluctuation in water temperature, and the surface of your glassware is also protected because the hardness of the water, which is also normally subject to fluctuation, is controlled during the washing process. Both the glassware and soaking programs described above are extremely gentle washing methods.
Heat exchanger
This innovative technology makes use of residual heat in the wash cycle water in an intelligent way. The fresh cold water is collected in a side-mounted reservoir in the dishwasher, ready for use in the next wash cycle, while being pre-heated by the hot water of the current cycle. No more electricity is needed for the drying cycle, and this cuts energy consumption by about 15%. Also, keeping the temperature even protects decorative trims and glassware.
Power-Light
By projecting a red dot onto the floor in front of fully integrated dishwashers, this feature provides an external visual indication that the program is coming to an end. The light goes out when the program is completed.
Knife basket
Ideal for holding long knives or cooking spoons.
Rackmatic
The height of the upper basket is simple to adjust, for example to accommodate large items. The upper cutlery basket pulls out an additional 2inches, giving better access for loading and unloading the rear area of the shelf.
Power Boost
The three main cycles can be shortened when even heavily soiled items are needed again in a hurry. Using the combination of “Enviro care” and the power boost function ensures optimum results (washing and drying efficiency class A) in just 59 minutes. The “Auto” and “Auto Super Wash Cycles” programs run up to 30% faster.
Vario bottom basket PLUS
This completely re-designed bottom basket now has a handle and, as well as the glass rest, no less than eight rows of foldable spines, making it even more flexible. Just what you need for mixed loads.
Vario top basket
